Personalized Care and Guidance

Sensory Integration
Our Sensory Integration (SI) Certified Therapists will work closely with you and your child to determine his or her sensory needs. Our OT will expose your child to sensory stimulating environments through repetitive functional tasks and play activities. The OT gradually makes activities more challenging and complex to encourage graded responses. The idea is that through repetition, your child’s nervous system will respond in a more “organized” way to sensations and movement.

Self-Regulation
Our professional team is here to guide our clients and their families every step of the way throughout their journeys. Our goal is to help our clients learn adaptive ways to manage their feelings and use appropriate prosocial behaviors. Together we build safe living environments.

Social Skills
There are many ways in which our occupational therapists may be able to support your child's developing social skills, including:
Breaking down the task into more manageable units...
Using your child's interests to engage with others...
Modifying the environment to facilitate appropriate social behaviors...
Acknowledging the different stages of play to reinforce social interaction skills, such as turn taking, eye contact, sharing...

Handwriting and Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills involve all of the small muscles of the body: more specifically those that control precise movements of the hands, wrists, feet, toes, lips, and tongue. The small muscles of the hands and fingers are the most important for developing handwriting skills. Our Therapists will work with your child to strengthen grasp and/ or provide adaptive equipment to improve quality of written work.

Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy is more than just “teaching a child to eat.” Our feeding certified therapists work closely with clients and their families to determine the source of the his or her difficulties and develop very specific strategies to make the entire process of eating easier and more enjoyable.

School Advocacy
School can be a confusing time for some students and parents--You are not alone! There are a lot of parents and students who feel frustrated, intimidated, or uninformed when dealing with teachers and principals at their school.
Our experienced School-Based Occupational Therapists will help you
Build healthy relationships with the teachers, principal, and school staff of your school;
Walk into meetings with a Parent Advocate to make yourself heard at initial or annual IEP meetings;
Create a positive and productive school experience for your child.
